More than 148,000 vaccine doses were administered yesterday, Ms Berejiklian said.

The premier is again talking about the need to hit 70 and 80 per cent of eligible populations vaccinated.

Ms Berejiklian said NSW is on-course to hit 70 per cent by the middle of October, a couple of weeks earlier than expected.

There are now 917 COVID cases in NSW hospitals, with 150 people in intensive care, 66 who require ventilation.

“The majority of those people in ICU have not been vaccinated,” Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Marianne Gale said.

More than 170,000 people come forward for testing in the last 24 hours.
