Inspired by the 1980s sitcom of the same name, the revival revolves around a group of overachieving high school students with a teacher (Isabella Gomez) who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life. Robin Givens reprises her role from the original series as one of the parents. “She’s very much a mama bear. She’s Darlene Merriman, all grown up,†Givens says.
